Description
No introductions needed here, earth and oil. A paint used throughout the history of art and present on most palettes today.
There is true depth in this pigment and I love it, for me the earth's are the body and substance of painting. This version in middle of the range in terms of hue and handling, it maybe doesn't have the subtleties of some of our other siennas however it is very well made and represents excellent value.
Michael Harding;
"One of the calcined (heated to just below melting point) Iron Oxide earths, it makes rich but subdued pinks, which reveal how transparent and warm its undertones are. Its tint power is noticeably stronger than the more opaque earths."
