Description

Dark, mahogany brown in masstone. Raw sienna is heated (calcined) to produce burnt sienna, the heating causes chemical changes and changes the hue.

Burnt sienna can vary quite widely in hue, depending on the source of the pigment and how it is prepared. However in masstone they look very similar, it is when you add white you start to see the differences.

This particular version produces creamy, cool browns when white is added, with almost a slight violet edge to them.

Pigment rich and no additives, just pigment and oil. High quality oil paint.
