Description
Calcined or heated raw umber becomes burnt umber. This process brings out the warmth of the pigment.
This version is the classic hue, dark brown almost black in masstone, when white is added warm brownish greys are created.
Pretty much essential on a portrait palette to enable subtle nuances in flesh hues.
Fantastic quality, just pigment and oil, made in small batches.
