Description
Chromium Oxide is an opaque, clean, medium shade, very stable green colour.
As you can see from the tube image it paints quite 'long'.
On the Munsell system it is rated 9.7GY for hue, 4.0 for value and 4.1 for chroma.
Guignet of Paris patented the process for manufacturing Viridian or transparent oxide of chromium in 1859 and therefore it was a favourite amongst the French Impressionists of that era, Mr.Van Gogh was known to be a fan as well.
It has excellent permanence.
