Description
Cobalt Violet is a 'classic colour' on the painter's palette, it is used to provide the violet/pink/purple element of the colour wheel. It is basically impossible to mix with other hues and given its subtle tinting power very useful in making subtle colour shifts to other paints.
This particular version is a high chroma, zingy pink/violet and as the name suggests, lighter than the standard rich purple hue.
Being lighter and semi-transparent, it enables a range of hues from a masstone, mid-value violet to, when used more thinly, pinks with beautiful blueish undertones.
The tints are delightfully vibrant, warm lilacs and pinks.
Pigment rich and smoothly ground, being a single pigment and based on Cobalt means it is a fast dryer.
