Description
Exceptional quality and rarity of pigment make this very special.
Naples yellow, also called antimony yellow, is derived from the chemical compound lead antinomiate, used extensively by the Old Masters.
This is a rare and truly beautiful paint, the 'dark' in the name means leaning more towards the orange part of the colour wheel. In masstone it is a rich muted yellow orange, this hue is my desert island colour, this is the colour I would 'save' above all others!
The tints with white are muted, warm, oranges and it has plenty of tint power to make 'stand up' on most palettes. Portrait/figurative painters will delight in this paint.
Specially ground with stone rollers to avoid adverse reactions with metal rollers.
