Description
In masstone a very dark blue, it is transparent which is generally preferable in colour mixing.
A relatively strong tinter provides a wide range of tints with white added. The tints bring out its red leaning nature displayed in the violet edge to the blue tints. They range from lovely deep summer sky blues to gentle lilacs. The drawdown swatch opposite is pretty accurate.
It would make a great chromatic black when mixed with a transparent complementary colour and from that you could derive some really good greys.
It is like a modern Indigo but with more punch and lightfastness. Buttery consistency.
