Description
The real deal, the pigment from near Siena in Italy, expertly ground with linseed oil you then basically have exactly the same paint used throughout the Renaissance, the paint which Caravaggio, Raphael and Titian used.
In masstone it is the classic raw sienna hue, a mid-value golden brown. It is quite lean in body, which makes it a pleasure to use with no mediums added. The swatch on left looks a little 'out' to me, in reality it isn't as dark or as red, and the tint shown isn't as pink!
It is not the strongest tinter, however the tints are exactly what you would expect from raw sienna, once white is added it brings out the muted, organic yellow brown hues eventually with more white added you get gentle greyish yellows.
Authentic and a pleasure to use.
