Description
Please note - this is a very limited special edition production called 'Artisan Select' by Rublev - it is slightly deeper in hue than the standard pigment - the drawdown on the left (third image) shows the various batch colours over the years - this batch is shown in the final drawdown of the four (12116). The description which follows relates to the standard pigment - any questions just let us know.
Between the dark and light versions of lead tin yellow both in value and temperature. It is a slightly green leaning full yellow.
Historically very important and it is present in many Italian and Northern Renaissance paintings.
A useful paint when trying to fill in the cool yellow gap on the colour wheel, it will work as a much more subtle version of 'Lemon Yellow'.
It is fine grained, paints long and has good tinting power. When tinted with white it produces very zingy, cool, yellows.
The lead content gives it lots of body.
