Description
Hand mulled paint - this is very special.
The paint is made in Derby, England by Tom Robertson - a painter, a teacher and an artistic alchemist!
Tom spent several years working on a solution to recreate the handling properties of lead white for his own painting practice and through those endeavours he has perfected this paint.
Like its cousin 'Type S' it is a viable alternative to using paint which contains lead carbonate - this version pushes the envelope of rheology to the max - in other words amongst other inherent properties it is more ropey or stringy, than 'Type S'.
This can lead to Velazquez-like flourishes and Rembrandt-style scumbling. It is a material which will open doors to new possibilities and ideas in your painting.
Made using a single lithopone pigment, ground in cold pressed linseed oil and produced with no fillers or extenders.
Beautifully presented in 40ml tubes with Tom's fine, clear labelling and an excellent hand-painted swatch.
Please see the video below to hear and see Tom talk in more depth about making paint.
