Transparent Magenta - crystal clear, crimson, reddish purplish, high chroma, powerful, loveliness.
Single pigment paint made with a quinacridone pigment, ground in a mix of walnut and linseed oil to bring out all the very best of this superb pigment. High pigment load - buttery and on the short side in handling.
The masstone is a dark, deep, bluish, purple, red. It is hard to pin down as it has that shifting quality which Quinacridones have.
Spread out on a white ground, it glows, an obscenely deep and rich purple hue. Once white is added it shows a high tint strength and there is a huge range of tints from high chroma cool pinks to soft flowery pinks.
Quinacridone has such a natural harmony with oil, it really is an exceptional pigment for oil paint.
