Description
Naples yellow, the real one. Made with Lead Antimonate and used as a pigment since at least 500 B.C.
In masstone it is a muted, yellow, with a slight leaning to green. It is a really unique hue, one of which there is no equivalent.
Wonderfully dense in body it feels very good under the brush but it is not stiff and could be brushed out with a sable brush. The tint power is good and the range of tints is wide, they all have that muted look while still seeming vibrant - depth I suppose you would call it.
The tints are very soft, cool, yellows.
I would describe this paint as weird, wonderful and ancient, it's like a strange discovery from the practice of alchemy.
