Description
A natural yellow oxide sourced from India.
This is slightly unusual being an opaque and also quite dense in body. The denseness and opacity give it quite a high tint strength, so with white added it can create a wide range of steps from the masstone golden brown/yellow to quite cool, muted beige hues.
It is possibly the darkest in value, yellow earth I have seen, and its density and opacity makes it an interesting paint.
Apparently the opacity is due to a greater amount of Iron Oxide being present compared to a yellow ochre.
