Description
Wallace Seymour's endeavour to produce the paints others would ignore or not be able to find, has paid off again!
The pigments in this series of paints are made from reclaimed ochres originating as a byproduct of the Northern coalmining industry. Having been cleaned, graded and refined to extremely high standards they have a colour purity really not found in any other earth pigment, while still being of the earth! There is nothing else like this anywhere, in either chroma or origin.
This particular ochre originates from central Scotland. In masstone a powerful, deep, orange brown, with a little transparency when used thinly. Once white is added, it's tints are delightful orange creamy browns. It has a lot of tint power for an earth!
Just tried adding in a bit of Burnt Sienna to get some more red in there and the mixes are superb flesh tones, this would definately work on a portrait palette.
Finely ground in linseed oil.
