Description
Peach Black is made from calcined (heated) peach stones. Very unusual and only available from Wallace Seymour.
A simple carbon black, many fruit stones can be heated to produce a black pigment from cherry to almond, the colour varies according to the stone use and the amount of heat applied.
In masstone a very deep, soft black, once dry it is very reminiscent of the soft surface appearance of charcoal. The paint is long in handling, and slumps on the palette, not buttery.
The tints are quite neutral grays, I was expecting it to have a brownish edge but really it is neither cool or warm. Excellent for the historically accurate palette.
