Description
Sap green was originally made from the juice of unripe berries from the buckthorn plant however not all sap greens are the same! We also sell a purely plant based version here.
This version is unusual as it is made entirely from a single pigment PG8 sometimes known as Nitroso green or Hookers green. An iron-based pigment.
In masstone, very dark green - spread out with a palette knife, it displays yellow undertones and it's semi-transparency.
A good strong tinter, when white is added it makes a wide range of mid-temperature greens - cooling as more white is added.
Smooth ground with linseed oil.
