Description
French burnt sienna, the pigment is sourced from the Societe de Ocres de France.
This is great, in masstone a classic reddish brown however it is in the tints where it excels. When white is added it makes muted flesh tones, it doesn't have quite the pinkness of an Italian burnt sienna (generally the French earths aren't as high in chroma as the Italian ones).
This more muted feel is really good and the potential for some incredibly harmonious descriptions of human flesh is very high! As you may be able to tell, I am very excited about getting this onto the palette in combination with a few other earth pigments.
Smooth and brushes out long, finely milled in French linseed oil.
Thanks to Francois for making this.
