Spinel now there is a word that makes me feel uncomfortable, not sure why!? A spinel is a naturally occurring gemstone (see picture above) and can be found in a wide variety of colours.

The hue of this paint is almost primary yellow with a very slight leaning towards green. Applied thickly it's masstone can look like mustardy yellow, however when applied in a thinner manner it looks more like a process/primary yellow. 

The tints with white head towards the lemon yellows and are very beautiful. I can see a place for this in landscape painting.

Being a gentle tinter it would be good for lifting light mixes without overpowering them with yellowness, always good as lifting mixes with white generally leads to chalkiness, particularly with titanium white. It reminds me of a higher chroma Nickel Yellow in this respect.
