Description
A new paint from Rublev, a more modern pigment than most in the range.
Transparent yellow Iron Oxide is warm brown colour in masstone that makes clean bright yellow tints in glazes, cracking vibrancy in those tints. Powerful and clean.
I experimented using the new Lithopone white from Rublev against Titanium white, it brings even more chroma and brightness out of this paint, maximising the transparency. Working with transparent paints is definitely an advantage in oil paints with regard to getting the most 'light' into a painting, as a white ground will bounce light back up through the paint layers.
This colour can serve as an alternative to a Stil de Grain hue or Dutch Pink hue in other paint brands.
